The CRed Programme was originally established in 2003 with backing from the East of England Development Agency. Since merging with Carbon Connections in 2008 to form the Low Carbon Innovation Centre, the experience gained from five years of working with community groups, Local Authorities and individuals across the UK allowed us to comprehensively update and redesign the CRed System adding more pledge pathways, improved look and feel and an upgraded user-friendly interface.
Drawing on a wealth of experience at the University and access to the latest climate change and energy management research, the CRed System offers clients practical solutions to their climate change challenges by developing tailor-made programmes for organisations or, depending on requirements, using elements of our 'off the shelf' service.
The CRed System is the perfect tool to engage large communities of residents and workforces to reduce their carbon emissions and is ideally suited to address the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, NI 185 and NI186 and other National Indicators as well as more informal community-based commitments. It therefore meets the low carbon intentions of both public and private sector organisations with over 70 carbon reduction pledges to assist behaviour change. Each pledge pathway addresses aspects of domestic and business emissions including transport, energy consumption, food, waste and water offering efficiency advice on giving accurate savings figures.
The CRed System has consistent recording and collation of carbon reduction activity taking the pain out of your obligation to report on energy consumption.
Though fully flexible and catering for bespoke requirements, the CRed System can come as an off the peg system thus removing the cost of dedicated website development making it a very affordable option. We are also confident that any organisation implementing the CRed System will reap the costs in reduced energy bills. LCIC also hosts the System for you meaning you don’t have to rely on in-house IT support.
LCIC has extensive experience of low carbon campaigns during which time we have engaged over 150,000 individuals leading to more than 140,000 tonnes of carbon emissions savings. If you are looking to engage large communities of residents or workers to reduce their carbon emissions in an unintrusive, low cost manner then the CRed System is for you.
