The Carbon Reduction Education Challenge is organised by 2010 Carbon MBA students at theUniversity of East Anglia (U
EA) under the CRed System designed by Low Carbon Innovation Centre (LCIC).
In the UK, we produce 10,000 kg of CO2 per person each year through energy consumption at home, work and through transport. Thus, our lifestyle impacts the planet and our future generations. The current young generation will face the consequences of human actions (inactions) over past centuries and will have to address these challenges in a responsible way.
This event is intended to raise awareness about low-carbon lifestyle among the younger generation and their guardians by involving school pupils in Norwich, UK. The pupils from several schools will take part in a picture contest as well as a pledge contest for this event. The pledge contest uses the CRed system, which helps individuals understand how small changes in their daily life can save many kilograms of CO2. The students will commit to saving CO2 by making pledges and tracking them.
The contest will culminate in an event at the award-winning low-carbon ZICER building at UEA on June 29, 2010 where winners of the two contests will be awarded with sponsored prizes.
This event is kindly sponsored by Aviva, Bayer CropScience and Anglia Print (printing partner). Bayer CropScience Ltd in Norwich is delighted to be supporting the Norwich Business School - Carbon Reduction Education Challenge 2010 - encouraging local school children and their families to reduce their carbon footprints.
