LCIC’s talents have the X factor

The forthcoming final of The Good Entrepreneur sees two Carbon Connections sponsored projects battling it out for the top prize package worth almost £250,000.

Launched jointly by CNBC and Allianz the competition seeks to identify entrepreneurs across Europe with environmentally responsible business concepts. Since June 2009, the judges have been whittling away the competition and now just three entrepreneurs remain. You can follow the journey of the three finalists to the Grand Final in November as they work with their Business Mentors and blog about their developments.

Craig White’s Modcell produce prefabricated straw bales for sustainable house construction and were featured on Grand Designs Live last year. Carbon Connections provided investment funding for Modcell’s BaleHaus spinoff back in 2008 and have since closely monitored their progress. Matthew Holloway and Artica took the top prize of £12,500 as voted by the audience in a live pitch at the 2009 Carbon Connections conference.

The prize includes nearly £50,000 in cash, a 30 second TV spot, airtime on CNBC and consultant support.

Carbon Connections has a portfolio of 26 innovative low carbon projects. Find out more about them on our projects page
