Biofuels for heating

Project SummaryTesting
biofuel

Problem: While biofuels such as biodiesel and bioethanol are being used extensively in transport, to date they have not been considered suitable for home heating in the UK, which is responsible for more than a quarter of national carbon emissions. The oil heating industry considers the development of a renewable home heating fuel a key objective over the next two to three years.

Solution: Develop and trial biofuels for use in home heating systems.
